IF you are familiar with the work of like this amazing renovation of an old mill with stone walls on the Scottish border that we featured awhile ago the mesmerizing transformation of the White House barely surprises you!
Designed by Martins Camisuli Architects the original residence largely features exposed brick walls which add to the beautiful narrative of the extension. The project replaced an existing internal courtyard with a greater usable living area while adding a lovely kitchen and dining nook that utilizes the available space in a smart fashion.
The kitchen with its smart shelves large island and an industrial-style steel storage rack blends in with the living area while the dining room dazzles with gorgeous lighting and unassuming elegance. A minimal master bedroom kids’ bedrooms and bathrooms complete this unique and intriguing family residence where the fun times never end.
The lower level family area is connected with the wooden deck and backyard outside even as the kitchen and dining space are flooded with ample natural light. With a design that allows the parents to constantly keep an eye on their three young boys this is a home crafted to withstand loads of activity!
It is the lower level that houses the living areas while the top floor holds three bedrooms bathrooms and a cozy tranquil study. The original Georgian stone façade additional stone walls and the soul of the White House are carefully preserved and one can see that this is an overhaul that is sensitive to the historical context and the current needs of the project. A perfect alchemy indeed!
